I wrote last week about setting writing goals for the year, which I then broke down into monthly goals. I have completed 2 of my 3 goals for April, which is good as the month is coming to a close.
Last week, I finished the rough draft of my next rider, ‘Inteneration’. This week, I’ve begun editing it. This rider answers questions about the fairy, Katz, that many people have been speculating about. I have really enjoyed exploring this portion of the story line! I am excited to edit it and see how it changes.
This week I went to the photo shoot for the cover art of ‘Inteneration’ and approved the mock up. I can’t wait to see the artwork when it’s finished! It’s going to be very different from the other covers. I’m very glad to be working with Liz Lindstrom to create the artwork for the covers of ‘The Empyrean Series’. She has truly brought my characters to life!
My stand-alone novel has also been making excellent progress. I like the direction and story development and the characters. I find myself daydreaming about different parts of their world, which is always a good sign – it helps to be a little in love with what you are creating.
It’s always interesting to me to see how different the rough draft turns out from my original story idea. All my characters begin with a little seed of myself, and then grow quickly into themselves, apart from me entirely. Their growth oftentimes determine the plot; after all their decisions must be consistent with who they are.
I’ve had several more reviews show up on Amazon this last week. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to leave a review! It’s very helpful for me and I know it’s not the most convenient thing to do.
