People are valuable.

Everyone has a story, a fight, victories, lessons learned. There is so much we can gain by knowing one another.

People are worth investing in.

We invest in relationships with time, money, emotion, and openness. A little bit goes a long way. A simple act of kindness can be such comfort.

Human beings are complicated, though.
We don’t always see the results of our investments. Sometimes, even, our investments don’t turn out well. (Unfortunate relational investments are the number one reason I make cupcakes)

Choosing to care about another person is a strange thing.
Even if the investment doesn’t turn out the way you thought it would, there is still benefit. We grow ourselves when we decide to care, and to act.

Opening ourselves enough to care is a risk, but it’s a risk worth taking – no matter the outcome of the investment.
