S talked me into sampling hot chocolate from an ice cream shop. I was a little skeptical, because usually ice cream shops give you things that make you cold, not warm.
I tried their Mexican hot chocolate. It wasn’t bad.
But I soon realized that if I want a cup of hot chocolate to my specific liking, I should probably just make it myself.
I glanced at some recipes, and decided to give it a go.
I started with 2 oz of semi sweet baking chocolate.
I chopped it up (so it would melt faster):
I poured two cups of milk and put it in a small saucepan. I turned the heat on low-medium, and waiting until the milk warmed.
Then I whisked in the chopped chocolate, added a couple spoonfuls of sugar, a dash of cinnamon, and a dash of cayenne pepper.
It made enough for me and S to each have a cup.
It was perfect.
I should have done this weeks ago.
